Desert Wind Farm

Pasquotank and Perquimans Counties, NC

Bowman is currently providing surveying services for this commercial-scale wind farm proposed in coastal North Carolina. The proposed 330-megawatt wind farm will have 150 turbines, which is expected to generate enough electricity to power between 55,000 – 70,000 homes in the region. Bowman completed an ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey in 2011 on this 25,000+ acre wind farm site. Our crews provided coordination with the aerial LiDAR mapping company to set about 20 aerial control monuments and aerial panels, and provided two continuously operating ground based GPS receivers during the LiDAR flight. Bowman is currently performing updates and recertification to the original ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey previously prepared by our own team on a land assemblage consisting of 64 parcels. This assemblage includes 5 new parcels. Additionally, Bowman is performing an as-built (post-construction) ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey on the same 64 parcels.
