The Bowman Consulting Intern Experience is a structured, hands-on program designed to introduce high caliber college students to the industry and to Bowman Consulting. Students are recruited by the HR staff to spend 10-12 weeks, learning from and working side-by-side with Bowman Consulting's engineers, surveyors, planners, landscape architects, and scientists.
Those who participated in the program, whether they became full-time employees of Bowman Consulting or not, related how they were offered opportunities for learning that were beyond their expectations. They met with clients and municipal employees; they visited job sites; they improved their CADD skills and the engineering methods they learned in class; and they came to appreciate the wide variety of work that goes into every quality project. Just as important, they realized the benefits of communication, how to work on a team, and how Bowman Consulting's core values were inseparable from everything the firm pursues. All reported that employees were eager to help them, and were committed to giving them a substantial, useful, and meaningful summer experience.
